The Ricoh Women’s British Open is one of the golfing highlights of the sporting calendar with the 40th Championship making its tenth appearance at the iconic Woburn Golf Club but first since 1999 and for the first time on the famed Marquess course.
Since 1979, the club has hosted in excess of fifty professional tournaments over the three courses and is a fitting stage for the world’s leading players to perform, over what will be four memorable days from the 28th – 31st July
As one of only two women Major’s played outside the US, the Ricoh Women’s British Open is the most international field of the year with the 2015 line-up boasting players from 26 different nations, including the world’s top 20 on the Rolex Rankings.
The field for 2016 will be equally as strong and will include the likes of reigning champion and Grand Slam winner, Inbee Park, the youngest ever world No. 1, Lydia Ko, Americans Michelle Wie, Stacy Lewis, , Paula Creamer and Lexi Thompson as well as past champions Yani Tseng and Mo Martin and UK favourites Charley Hull, Catriona Matthew and Dame Laura Davies amongst others.
Along with the superb golf on show at Woburn, spectators will find the perfect opportunity to relax and savour the atmosphere when not out on the course; the Championship Village will host a number of exhibition and retail units, interactive activities, and public catering facilities for the whole family to enjoy.
